FLASHNET'S ACQUISITION OF BUSINESS ASSETS OF ECHOTEL TANZANIA

The Fair Competition Commission (FCC) has commenced its review of the proposed acquisition by Flashnet Technologies Limited of certain business assets of Echotel Tanzania Limited. According to the FCC's public notice, the assets relate to the provision of internet connectivity, fibre internet solutions, managed internet services, co-location support through third-party facilities, and related enterprise connectivity solutions in Tanzania. Flashnet Technologies Limited is a Tanzanian technology company that expanded into internet connectivity solutions in 2017, while Echotel Tanzania Limited is a licensed telecommunications operator in Mainland Tanzania. The FCC's review and investigation have commenced, and interested parties may submit comments until 21 September 2026.
